Sure, physics ain't 100% and there's (at the time of writing) no pads, so the low shots can feel ackward. Lots of content? No, but really fun none the less.I'd gladly pay for a version with a more fine tuned experience and a bit more content, but for a free price there's no reason not to recommend it. You want to try to be a goalie and save some shots? Awesome, then download this and enjoy!. I really wanted to like this title. As an aging, former goalie, I feel I'm squarely within one of the target demographics for Goalie Challenge. To start with, it's fun to be "back on the ice". For the most part, it's a good workout. However, where the sim falls apart for me was the abject lack of feedback when I made a save. What I mean by that is I flash some leather, throw a leg out, and the puck disappears from sight. No haptic feedback, no sound of the puck hitting pad, can't see it bounce off...frequently, the only way I know whether I made the save or not is not hearing the goal horn go off. Now, granted, I'm not using a Vive with the augmented leg trackers...that might make a big difference, and I'm using a Samsung Odyssey WMR system, so maybe that's an issue, too. But...not being able to see/feel/hear when I make a save is a HUGE negative in how useful and realistic the sim feels, and how fun it is. Oh, and good luck making a glove save...even one that's not "a beauty". I wave at pucks to my glove side, over and over again, convinced that the biscuit is gonna land in my webbing, and again and again, it sails right by...or, at best, deflects off the glove. Again, this might be 'cuz I'm using a WMR HMD...although I have no similar issues with any other Vive or Rift games.I'm disappointed, 'cuz like I said, I really REALLY wanted to like this demo. I'd take a flyer (not team from Philly, BTW) and pick up the released game, hoping it might be better, but at $29.99, that's too high a price to pay for something that has at least a 50% chance of not working.. Looks very promising but I could not get the UI to work on a RIft.Appears that it can be an awesome training aid but here are some good suggestions to the devs for future updates that can give a more useful training tool: -Improve catching glove closure. It does not close like a real glove.-Shots produce puck marks.-If you get into the butterfly to work on high shots can we see leg pads and skates?-Display a diagram of where most of the goals went in and where most saves were made.-Option to fine tune the angle and postiion and depth that the blocker and catcher and stick display. (For goalies this is muscle memory and we should train the same way) .-Real puck physics.-Different size pucks, some real small, some low-contrast ones, etc.-Sounds and controller rumbling when puck makes contact with surfaces, including your body, gloves, ice, posts etc.-Make the stick touch the ice and give the ability to swat stationary or spinning pucks out of the crease or air.- Random shot timers etc, players pass the puck as if on a powerplay. Or perhaps shooters that move around to force you to adjust your position. -Objects that can deflect the trajectory of the puck (i.e. a low shot along the ice that ramps up high. Or a screen where we have to adust our stance to see incoming pucks from a screen. Thanks and looking forward to playing/buying this in the future!. Very fun for a free game. Very simple, but challenging.. Super fun quick little game. Pucks flying at your face are scary.. Needs a new difficulty level called "Beer league" where all shots either hit you in the junk, the head, or go 15 feet over the net.. Great fun if you enjoy hockey. Could use some work but is quite enjoyable as is
